HDE-Pump-2-Pulley

Upgrade your misting system with our state-of-the-art Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) Pump. This guide will walk you through the installation process, ensuring a smooth setup and optimal performance.

Installation steps

Step 1: gather necessary tools and parts

Before beginning the installation, ensure you have the following tools and parts:

  • VFD Pump
  • Nozzles (chosen based on climate)
  • Fittings and connectors
  • Tubing
  • Solenoid valves (if not pre-installed)
  • Screwdrivers, wrenches, and pliers
  • Teflon tape
  • Mounting hardware

Step 2: select and install nozzles

  1. Choose Nozzle Size: Select nozzles based on your climate. For humid climates, use .008 orifice size nozzles; for dry climates, use .012 orifice size nozzles.
  2. Install Nozzles: Attach the selected nozzles to the tubing, ensuring they are evenly spaced for uniform misting coverage. Use Teflon tape on threads to prevent leaks.

Step 3: mount the pump

  1. Choose Location: Select an outdoor-rated location for mounting the pump, ensuring it is protected from extreme weather conditions.
  2. Secure the Pump: Use the provided mounting hardware to secure the pump to a stable surface. Ensure the pump is level to prevent operational issues.

Step 4: connect tubing and fittings

  1. Attach Tubing: Connect the tubing to the pump’s outlet using appropriate fittings. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
  2. Install Solenoid Valves: If your system includes internal mounted solenoid zone valves, connect them to the designated zones in your tubing layout. This allows for customized misting control.
  3. Run Tubing to Nozzles: Extend the tubing from the pump to the nozzle locations, making sure to route it in a way that avoids kinks and sharp bends.

Step 5: connect electrical components

  1. Power Supply: Connect the pump to a suitable power source. Ensure the power supply matches the pump’s electrical requirements.
  2. Disconnect Switch: Install the disconnect switch in an accessible location to allow for easy power shutoff when needed.

Step 6: program and test the pump

  1. Set Up Variable Speed Drive: Program the Variable Speed Drive according to your misting needs. This allows you to control the misting output precisely, optimizing energy efficiency and comfort.
  2. Check Low Water Protection: Ensure the low water protection programming is activated to safeguard the pump from potential damage due to low water levels.
  3. Test the System: Turn on the pump and observe the misting output. Check all connections for leaks and make necessary adjustments.
