Misting fans combine airflow and evaporative cooling into one outdoor-ready unit. Unlike a mist line that delivers a fine spray along a fixed perimeter, a misting fan moves with the air, directing mist where people are and covering a wider zone with each sweep.
Aeromist offers several fan configurations, from freestanding pedestal kits to ceiling-mounted and wall-mounted options. The right choice depends on how your space is set up, how permanently you want the installation to be, and how much area you need to cool.
The cooling comes from two things working together. The fan motor drives airflow across the area, and misting nozzles deliver a fine water spray that evaporates quickly. As the mist evaporates, it absorbs heat from the surrounding air. The fan then pushes that cooled air toward the people in the space.
The result is a drop in perceived temperature that feels immediate. It works most effectively in lower-humidity conditions, where the air readily absorbs moisture. In more humid climates, the airflow itself still makes a meaningful difference, and running the mist at a lower output helps find the right balance.
Aeromist misting fans come in four main configurations. Each is built for a different kind of space and installation preference.
The most common configuration for open patios and decks. An oscillating fan sweeps side to side, spreading mist and airflow across a wider area than a fixed-position fan. Three fan speeds give you control over airflow intensity, and 90-degree oscillation helps cover the full seating zone rather than directing cooling at a single point.
Best for: open patios, outdoor dining areas, poolside setups, and spaces where the fan will be set up and left in one position.

A complete kit that bundles one or more oscillating pedestal fans with all the plumbing components needed for installation. Available in 18-inch, 24-inch, and 30-inch fan sizes, with kit options ranging from one to four fans. This is the right starting point when you want everything in one order.
Best for: new installs, multi-fan setups, and anyone who wants a single box to unpack rather than sourcing components separately.

Fixed-direction misting fans for setups where you want focused, sustained airflow toward a specific zone rather than broad coverage from an oscillating unit. The lack of sweep keeps all the airflow pointed where you aim it, which works well for narrow spaces, workstations, or anywhere you want the cooling directed rather than distributed.
Best for: compact spaces, targeted cooling zones, and setups where oscillation would direct air away from the intended area.

For overhead installation in covered patios, pergolas, and outdoor rooms. A ceiling-mounted fan with a misting ring delivers cooling from above, which distributes airflow across a larger footprint and keeps the floor clear of fans and cables. The ceiling fan kit includes an enclosed direct drive pump and nozzle ports for consistent mist output.
Best for: covered structures, outdoor rooms, pergolas, and spaces where a clean overhead installation is preferred over freestanding equipment.

Misting fan rings and related components are available separately for upgrades and replacements. If you already have a fan and want to add misting capability, or need to replace a ring on an existing setup, the Fan Accessories section covers those items.
Go with an oscillating model, either the wall/pedestal oscillating fan or the pedestal kit. The sweep distributes cooling across the whole seating zone rather than just the spot directly in front of the fan.
A non-oscillating fan keeps all the airflow pointed in one direction, which is more effective for narrow spaces or targeted use cases like a workstation or a single chair position.
The oscillating pedestal misting fan kits bundle the fans, tubing, nozzles, fittings, and mounting accessories into a single order. This is the fastest path from order to running system if you do not already have misting components.
A mist line is a fixed perimeter system: tubing runs along a fence, pergola, or roofline, and nozzles spray mist at set intervals. It works well for defined borders and covered spaces. A misting fan combines the mist with directed airflow, which is more effective in open areas where the moving air carries the cooling to where people are sitting.
Yes. The oscillating pedestal kits are used in restaurant patios, event spaces, and other commercial outdoor settings. Multi-fan kits and larger fan sizes make it practical to cover a full commercial dining area or event layout. The portability of pedestal fans also makes them useful for temporary setups that need to be repositioned.
The most effective prevention is a water filter. Sediment and mineral deposits are the leading cause of nozzle clogging, and a filter reduces both. In hard water areas, a periodic nozzle cleaning with a nozzle cleaner keeps the orifices clear. Nozzle maintenance items are in the Accessories category.
Misting fans are designed for outdoor use. In a well-ventilated covered space they can function indoors, but the added humidity from the mist can cause issues in fully enclosed rooms. If you are trying to cool an indoor space, look at whether the humidity and surface moisture that comes with misting will be a problem for the environment.
Most Aeromist misting fans work with standard residential water pressure through a garden hose connection. Some systems may benefit from or require a pump for consistent performance at the nozzle level. Check individual product specifications for pressure requirements. Pump options are available in the Pumps category.
At Aeromist, we’re committed to delivering the highest quality cooling solutions that make a real difference.
